EYES DISEASE
 
Introduction: Eyes are the most precious gift of the nature to all the living beings on the earth. Proper and timely caring the eyes helps people healthy eye sights till their later ages. There may be many instances when the person needs to care for his eyes the most. Although, ailments in any of the body organs or parts are troublesome and disturbing, the disorders of any sort in the eyes are even more worrying. Regular check-ups of the eyes is of course the best way to preserve your eye conditions and keep them healthy. Early detection and proper treatment of any eye related ailment can save your vision. Even symptoms like pain, double vision, fluid discharged from the eye and eye inflammations demands immediate medical attention.

Types: There are various types of eye deseases that are usually experienced. The most commonly noticed eye desease may include: age-related macular degeneration, amblyopia, astigmatism, blepharitis, cataract, chalazion, dry eyes, conjunctivitis, diabetic retinopathy, floaters, glaucoma, hyperopia, iritis, myopia, presbyopia, retina detachment, retinitis pigmentosa, strabismus, stye and uveitis.

Causes: The cause for the typical eye disease is entirely depending on the specific eye disorders. There may be several reasons of causing various eye diseases in general. However, several factors like extended exposure in the bright sunlight or flood light like mercury or sodium vapor lamps, excessive watching of television or persistently working on the computers, or bad reading habits like reading in the dim light conditions, unhealthy diets, insufficient consumption of water or fluids etc could lead to different eye diseases.

Symptoms: Though signs and symptoms of eye diseases may vary according to the typical disorder, certain commonly noticed symptoms may include: blurred or double vision quality, crossed eyes, eye turning in or out but not focusing, redness of eyeballs, swelling, sensitivity to lights, appearing to bulge, excess tears or eye drainage, squinting, required to rub very often, difficulty reading, tilting of head required for seeing the objects, abnormal sized eyes and droopy eyelids. Anyway, the eye problem symptoms may resemble to some other disease also.

Diagnose: Usually ailment is diagnosed initially on the basis of symptoms experienced by the patient. The appearance of the eyes and the results of several required tests may help the physician to determine the ailment. Generally each of the eyes is tested separately for assessing the damage of intensity of the disease.

Treatment: Unless otherwise some uncommon or rare kind of disease is detected, the usual eye treatment includes some oral medications accompanied by specific eye drops. Certain extra care like washing or splashing the eyes with clean normal cold water or massaging with hot and cold water with the help of cotton ball or clean tissues is also recommended in some specific disorders like conjunctivitis. Eye exercises like licking of eyes are also helpful.
