| Definition: The heart disease signifies
numerous uncommon conditions that affect the heart and the blood vessels in
the heart. There may be different types of heart disease. Different types: Different types of heart desease include: coronary artery disease-CAD which is the most common type of heart deseases and is considered as the major cause of heart attack. During the CAD the arteries turns harder and narrower hindering the blood to pass through for reaching the heart. As the result, the heart does not get the required quantity of blood. The coronary artery disease-CAD may also lead to angina – chest pain or discomfort occurring when the heart is not getting the required blood quota. The patient may experience pressure or squeezing pain in the chest and often pain in the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw or back. The symptoms of constipation or stomach upset may also be noticed. Angina pain is not the heart attack but can easily and rapidly lead to the massive heart attack. Heart attack: The heart attack occurs when the artery is extensively or totally blocked and the required blood quota does not reach the heart for more than 20 minutes. Heart failure: Heart failure takes place when heart is unable to pump blood through the body as efficiently as it should. This leaves various organs in the body without sufficient blood supply from the heart, but this never means that the heart stops. The signs of heart failure include: shortness of breath, swelling in feet, ankles and legs and feeling of tremendous fatigue. Heart arrhythmias: This means the changes in the heart beating. The patient may experience wobbly, faint, out of breath or chest pain. For most people this change may be harmless. Causes: The most commonly known heart desease is contracting of or hindrance in the coronary arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle itself. Some heart diseases are right from the birth time. The other causes may include: hypertension, irregular function of the heart valves, irregular heart rhythm and weakening of pumping ability of the heart caused by infection or toxins. Symptoms: Symptoms in heart desease may be different in each of the disorder related to the heart. Symptoms may vary from mild to severe and in some cases may also prove to be fatal. Diagnosis: Certain tests are required for diagnosing the heart disease and the selection of required tests depend on several factors like patient’s risk factor, his history of heart problems, current symptoms and doctor’s opinion regarding all of them. Treatment: Treatment varies from symptoms to symptoms. For every heart disorders there are different types of treatments
