Introduction: Skin is considered as the largest organ of our body that provides the complete outer covering for our entire body and also protects the body against heat, light, injury and infections. The skin also actively manages our body temperatures through discharging fluids and keeps the body cool to the required temperatures. The skin stores necessary amount of water, fat and vitamin D that we essentially require to survive or live. There are various conditions that could change the look and conditions of the skin. Some of the most commonly noticed or experienced skin related diseases are appended below.

Types: Though there are a few dozens of known and unknown or rare skin deseases, some of the most commonly experienced skin diseases are such as: Acne Vulgaris, Allergic dermatitis, freckles, post-inflammatory pigmentations, contact allergy, drug allergy, molluscum contagiosum, melasma, herpes, alopecia and hair loss, athletes foot, eczema, fungal nail infection, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff, tinea and ring warms.

Causes: The causes of different skin disease are not common in all types of the ailments as it entirely depends on the typical disorder. Some of the causes may be due to simple contact with the infectious patient; some may be transmitted through contaminated blood or injection syringes or medical instruments. Even certain skin conditions are said to be caused due to internal health disorders. Sunlight is also considered the major cause of skin ailments. Underlying structures – veins and bones in particular plays vital roles.

Symptoms: Symptoms of all the skin ailments defer from desease to disease. In some skin conditions the most common symptoms may be experiences such as: itching, rashes, discoloration of the skin, unknown patches and bumps or dryness of the skin, skin swelling, bruising, wounds, inflammation, pruritus, irritation, pain, oedema, urticaria, angioedema and so on.

Diagnosis: After the simple usual observations and necessary examinations of the affected areas of the skin with the help of the dermatoscope for morphologic details and certain clinical diagnostic techniques may help the physician to identify the skin disease. Such tests may include: biopsy, diascopy, microscopic immunofluorescence, patch tests, potassium hydroxide test, side-lighting and woods light etc.

Treatment: Skin disease treatment generally comprises of two basic medication therapies: oral dosages and external applicable ointment or solution or skin creams in required compositions.
